Bishop Sutton 2 Warminster Town 2

This match was originally due to take place in November but postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. There was still rain very much in the air for this game, but at least it was a mild evening. It was a game that finished all square at 2 – 2.

Warminster took the lead on 11 minutes with a well-worked goal with the final touch from James Vincent moving him onto 10 for the season. The visitors were mostly in the ascendency in this first half, however, with just a couple of minutes to go before halftime switched off and allowed Bishop Sutton to score an equalizer.

Much to the displeasure of manager, Andy Crabtree, the Red & Blacks gave too much room to the home side. A failure to press and go for the second ball allowed The Bishops to score early in the second half and looked the more dangerous team. It took an exceptional free-kick late in the game from Harry Barnes to double Warminster’s tally. Barnes left foot curled the ball over the wall and into the left-hand corner of the home side’s goal.

Overall it has to be said this was a frustrating performance against a team at the bottom end of the league table and viewed as 2 points lost rather than a point gained.
